We had a wonderful time collaborating with our favorite DIY resource Spoonflower on a dinner party celebrating Earth Day! We were inspired by Spoonflower designs that evoked elements of nature in all it’s finery, from ocean waves and bold botanicals to playful tree prints. We had a blast DIY-ing elements of this shoot and mixing them in with our favorite rental pieces to create this fun and colorful look. Enjoy our ‘how-to’ summary for the projects involved below and be sure to check out all the amazing vendors who helped bring this party to life!
Tree Sapling Favor Bags:
Using a mix of adorable tree patterns printed by Spoonflower on their Kona Cotton Ultra we cut simple 4″ x 12″ rectangular shapes, folded them in half and sewed the two sides together, then we tucked the unfinished top edge under to create a finished piece that was 3.5″ wide and 4″ tall and tucked the sweet little tree saplings in and finished the pieces with a knotted piece of twine.
World Map Wall Hanging:
Using one yard of Spoonflower Eco Canvas featuring the Watercolor World print by thinlinetexttiles we stained 2 slats of wood and staple gunned the fabric onto the backside of the wood, then screwed two eye hooks to the top of the piece to create a quick and beautiful custom wall art to tie into the party theme. We loved how simple and fun this project was!
Custom Tray:
We asked our good friends at Revel Madison to help us out with this DIY project! They took a simple white acrylic tray and customized it for us with wallpaper from Spoonflower in an Ocean Depth Map pattern for a pop of color to serve an Earth Day inspired cocktail.
