“In twenty years you’ll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you can’t grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked.” -Mary Schmich

As the percussion changes, their friends and family arise, and the ceremony doors open, the bride takes her first steps towards what seems like a journey, yet is only an aisle. It is in that brief moment, the moment that the groom looks up at his bride for the first time, that any two people would want to be able to last forever. Unfortunately, this glance is not easily recapitulated. Yet, lucky for us, we have the magnificent device, known as the camera.

Many couples enjoy the idea of taking pictures before their wedding. These photos capture the two looking their best as well as their excitement for the later ceremony. Yet, for some brides and grooms, they want to save their first glance for the ceremony. However, many feel the conflicting feeling that they are jeopardizing the beautiful “pre-wedding” photos, just to savor this glance. Fortunately, because of new trends, brides and grooms have found a way to actually take advantage of the distance they share,”pre-ceremony.” With these new creative ideas, couples are using nothing but, just a common barrier.

Who knew that something so mundane, like a wall, could create an unforgettable photograph? Featured in the photograph on the right, this bride and groom have chosen to blindly exchange love letters. The photographer has captured the couple on each side of the wall, encapsulating their emotions as they read the letters. This sequence of photographs, will often leave one with a touching and heartwarming photo that the bride and groom can cherish for years to come.

It is said that “distance makes the heart grow fonder.” Why not capture this “pre-ceremony” distance on camera? A picture is worth a thousand words…
